April 27, 2006: Adam Taub provided training to Michigan trial lawyers at the MTLA conference.

April 19 and 21, 2006: Adam Taub trained Legal Aid lawyers at the Annual CORT Training Conference on topics of Auto Fraud and Fair Credit Reporting Act in Ann Arbor Michigan.

March 2006: Taub filed 13 new cases this month, including claims for identity theft and violations of the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA). See our Current and Past Cases page.

March 17, 2006: Adam Taub conducted a training of Navy JAG lawyers in Hawaii on the topics of Auto Fraud and Credit Reporting.

September 23, 2005: 11th Circuit sustains consumer’s right to pursue claims for title fraud against auto dealer. See our Recent Legal Developments page for more information or read the opinion in Owens v. Samkle Automotive.

September 22, 2005: The Consumer Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan met at its annual meeting. At that time, elections were held and Adam Taub was elected to serve a three-year term on the Consumer Law Section’s governing council. Following elections, Ira Rheingold of the National Association of Consumer Advocates (NACA) addressed the section, detaining the state of consumer protection laws on both the state and federal levels. Amount the most alarming statistic were those relating to sub prime mortgage lending. Recent studies now show that 1 in 5 sub prime mortgages will end in foreclosure and eviction.
